Privacy Policy

Last updated: 17 July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Vyomi, Inc. ("Vyomi", "we", "us") handles information in connection with the Vyomi website (vyomi.cloud), the in-browser simulator, and the downloadable appliance (together, the "Services").

Vyomi is local-first by design. The cloud resources you create, your code, and the data you generate in the simulator stay on your own machine or in your own browser — we never receive them. The sections below describe the limited information we do process.

1. Information we collect

Account information

If you create an account, we collect your email address and, if you sign in with Google, GitHub or LinkedIn, the basic profile information those providers share (name, email, avatar). We use this to authenticate you and manage your subscription.

Appliance & install telemetry

When the appliance or in-browser simulator boots, it may send a small, privacy-preserving telemetry event so we can understand adoption. This includes a randomly generated install identifier, the product tier, the distribution channel (e.g. Homebrew, Docker, winget), lifecycle state (downloaded / installed / activated / active), and an approximate country derived from your IP address at request time. We do not store your IP address, and we do not collect any of the cloud resources, code, credentials or data you use inside Vyomi.

Payment information

Paid subscriptions are processed by a third-party payment provider. We receive confirmation of your subscription and limited billing metadata, but we do not store your full card details.

Website & support data

Like most websites, our servers keep basic request logs for security and reliability. If you contact us by email or open a GitHub issue, we process the information you choose to share.

Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and maintain your session. We do not use advertising cookies.

2. What we do not collect

  • The cloud resources, buckets, tables, functions, databases or any data you create in Vyomi.
  • Your application code, cloud credentials, or secrets.
  • Anything created in the in-browser simulator — it runs entirely client-side in WebAssembly and never leaves your tab.

3. How we use information

  • To provide, secure and improve the Services.
  • To authenticate accounts and administer subscriptions.
  • To understand aggregate adoption (e.g. total installs by channel and country).
  • To respond to your requests and provide support.

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who process it on our behalf (e.g. hosting, authentication, payments), when required by law, or in connection with a business transfer. These providers are bound to use the information only to provide services to us.

5. Data retention

We keep account and billing information for as long as your account is active and as needed to meet legal, accounting or reporting obligations. Aggregate telemetry is retained in a de-identified form.

6. Security

We use industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit, to protect information in our care. See our Security page for more, including how to report a vulnerability.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under the EU/UK GDPR and India's DPDP Act), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, or to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, email [email protected].

8. International transfers

We may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

9. Children

The Services are not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
